National Coordinator of Niger Delta Grassroots Movement (NDGM), Mr. Weyinmi Olley, says disagreement over naming and other interests of the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) project site is between few Ijaw and certain Itsekiri communities which can easily be resolved for the benefit of all.
Olley, advised the leaders not to create impression that the entire Ijaw and Itsekiri nations at war over the shelved groundbreaking of the EPZ project by President Goodluck Jonathan.
He said it was baseless to accuse President Goodluck Jonathan of pursuing an Ijaw agenda even as he said it was unnecessary to call for resignation of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan who had done his best and on his way out. He also said the recent bickering over change of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate to Mr. George Ekpemupolo was uncalled for.
He said it was reasonable for Jonathan to postpone the groundbreaking ceremony of the EPZ project in the face of threats of violence to give room to ascertain if other stakeholders were sidelined and their demands looked into.
