Bauchi Police probe attempted murder

Bauchi—Bauchi State Police Command has commenced investigation into an attempt to kill a traditional title holder in Bauchi Emirate, Alhaji Nuru Adamu.

According to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Muhammad, two unknown armed men, rode on a motorcycle and shot Adamu on his leg on his way from the mosque.

It said: “On November 23 at about 7p.m., gunmen trailed the movements of a traditional title holder on his way from the mosque.

“The gunmen who were on a motorcycle failed in their attempt to kill him and shot him in the leg.”

“No arrest has been made at the moment, but the police have commenced an intensive patrol to apprehend the fleeing perpetrators,” the statement read.

The police image maker called on the public to support the Police with relevant information in their effort to wipe out criminal activities in all parts of the state.

Meanwhile,  DSP Muhammed has disclosed that one Sanusi  Garba Mohammed, the abducted son of  Alhaji Garba Muhammed Noma Jarman Bauchi, has been liberated from his captors.

According to him, the freed Sanusi is in stable condition.
