OSOGBO—Osun state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has alleged that Governor Rauf Aregbesola plans to use N1.2 billion from the N2 billion loan he seeks to process from Central Bank of Nigeria to pay his witnesses lined up to testify at the ongoing trial against his declaration as the winner of August 9 governorship poll in the state.
The party said information at its disposal indicates that APC’s witnesses are already demanding for N1m each before they will appear to testify, just as the PDP maintained that the “ usage of state funds to defend Aregbesola is part of the reasons why September worker’s salary have not been paid till date.
But the APC in a swift reaction by its Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Mr Kunle Oyatomi described the allegation as a blatant lie.
“It is not our style and has never been our intention to add dignity to lies and nonsense.”
