Air Force promotes 110 officers, 16 AVMs

ABUJA—The Nigerian Air Force has elevated 110 officers to the next ranks. These include 16 Air Vice Marshals and 35 Air Commodores.

A statement signed by the Director of Airforce Public Relations, Air Commodore Dele Alonge, noted that, among the officers promoted were 33 group captains and 26 wing commanders.

Those promoted to the rank of Air Vice Marshal are the Commander, 75 Strike Group Yola, Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Anebi; Commander, 79 Composite Group Maiduguri, Air Vice Marshal Nurudeen Balogun; Commander ,201 Heavy Airlift Group Ikeja, Air Vice Marshal Christopher Okoye and Commander, 97 Special Operations Group Port Harcourt, Air ViceMarshal Ajibola Jekennu.

Others are the Commander 106 Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Camp Abuja, Air Vice Marshal Abdul Bello; Chief of Accounts and Budget, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Jacob Adigun; Commander, 81 Air Maritime Group Benin, Air Vice Marshal Olusoji Awomodu; Commander, 203 Medium Airlift Group /lorin, Air Vice Marshal Ndana Kudu and Commander, 301 Flying Training School Kaduna, Air Vice Marshal Dayo Adeloye.

Also promoted are the Director of Plans at Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Samson Akpasa; College Secretary, National Defence College Abuja, Air Vice Marshal Kingsley Lar; Director of Armament

at Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal John Kayode-Beckley and   Director of Works at Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Yahaya.

Commander National Air Defence Corps Ikeja, Air Vice Marshal Bernard Chiobi; Commander 445 Nigerian Air Force Hospital Ikeja, Air Vice Marshal Saleh Shinkafi and Chairman Military Pensions Board, Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Dabo.

The senior officers elevated to the rank of Air Commodore include Air Commodores Ismaila Yahaya, Jackson Yusuf, Joseph Malgwi, Mohammed Suleiman, Emmanuel Chukwu, Samuel Babalola, Olurotimi Tunwase, Sunday

Makin de and Anthony Akiode.

Others are Air Commodore Moses Onilede, Edward Adedokun and Adewale Ogunmodede, O/alekan LawaI, Maxwell Nnaji, Cornelius

Irobuisi, Useni Sylvanus, Folarin Odewole, Garba Abubakar, Augustine Vonombagai, Ibrahim Ali, Ibrahim LawaI, Pam Chollom, Benson Omoyungbo, Musa Muktar, Ademola Durotoye.

Also elevated are Air Commodore Mfon Ekpoh, Abubakar Yusuf, Ayoola Osanyintolu, Ali Istifanus, Musibau O/atunji, Akanbi Salami, Salisu Mohammed, O/abode Babalola, Ylltonq Goman, and Samuel Udosen.

The statement said:   “The recent promotions are in line with the Transformation Agenda of Mr. President and one of the key drivers of the CAS vision which is personnel motivation.

“As an annual exercise, the purpose of promotion is to encourage officers and men to rededicate themselves to assigned duties as well as the development of the Nigerian Air Force and the nation as a whole.”
