Lagos – A former Coach of the Bendel Insurance of Benin, Tony Otah, on Tuesday said that Nigeria’ s football leagues were in developmental stages and would soon meet international standards.
Otah made the observation in a telephone interview.
He expressed the hope that lapses in the leagues would soon end.
The coach, however, urged stakeholders in football to ensure fairness to facilitate the development of the leagues.
“There are loopholes that have militated against the development of our leagues which, with time, will be taken care of.
“Issues such as clubs owing their players, referee being decider of matches and poor publicity will gradually fade away with time.’’
Otah remarked that there was no football league that had reached perfection. (NAN)
