Factional chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Maxi Okwu, has said that he will appeal at the Supreme Court today against the ruling of the Court of Appeal, which nullified his election as national chairman and recognised Chief Victor Umeh.
He told Vanguard in a telephone interview: “We obtained a copy of the judgment of the Court of Appeal. Our legal advisers have perused it carefully with us.
‘’We have come to the conclusion that it turns the law upside down. We believe that it is in the interest of our jurisprudence that it should be struck down.
‘’We have therefore instructed our solicitors to file an appeal to the Supreme Court with dispatch. They assure us that they would be in at the court latest at the close of business today.
‘’We therefore, implore our disappointed members nationwide not to be downcast and wait further communication from the national secretariat. Truth and justice will ultimately prevail.”
