How Nigeria can become world’s 2nd biggest rice exporter —Eruotor

Professor Peter Eruotor of the Faculty of Agriculture, Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, has called on the federal and state governments, corporate bodies and other stakeholders to boost investments in rice production in order for Nigeria to attain self sufficiency in rice production and become the world’s second biggest exporter of rice.

Delivering the 34th Inaugural Lecture of the university, Eruotor pointed said the call became imperative as rice is eaten as a staple food by about three billion people around the world daily, adding that Nigerians consume over 4.5 million tonnes yearly.
