The Ovie of Ughelli, Delta State, Oharisi III, has commended the immediate past Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and governorship aspirant in Delta State, Elder Godsday Orubebe, for the execution of the East West Road.
The traditional ruler made the commendation yesterday on behalf of other traditional rulers in Ughelli North Local Government Area during Elder Orubebe’s consultation tour in pursuance of his governorship ambition.
The traditional ruler noted that one of Orubebe’s achievements as a local government chairman was the Urban Renewal Act for the development of cities in Delta State adding that the former minister spent seven years in office because he was an achiever who took his brief seriously.
He expressed confidence that as governor of Delta State, Orubebe would continue to excel.
In his address to the monarchs, Elder Orubebe declared that it is time for Deltans to come together and work for the progress of the state irrespective of where they hail from as the state has special needs that only the versatile and vastly experienced can take it to the next level of development. He said that he is propelled to seek the office of governor because he is convinced that he has a lot to offer the state in terms of practical development.
