Osun CP mourns 3 officers who died on patrol

OSOGBO —THE Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Maishanu, yesterday, commiserated with the families of the three policemen who lost their lives in a motor accident while on patrol, weekend.

Addressing wives of the three policemen, Adesina Lawani, Oyeniran Ismail and Bakinde Babajide, Mr Maishanu described their death as unfortunate and assured that their entitlements would be processed speedily and paid without delay.

The three policemen attached to the Dada Estate Police Division in Osogbo, the state capital, were on night patrol when a driver rammed into the police patrol van convening five policemen.

The remaining two policemen who survived the accident, Inspector Daud Yusuf and Corporal Ayerin Timileyin, are currently receiving treatment at Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo.

The police boss also assured that the accident which led to the death of the three policemen would be properly investigated, adding that the killer of the policemen would not go unpunished.

He charged officers and men of the state Police Command to rededicate themselves to their duties and continue to work hard to ensure a safe and secured society.
