Court restrains Ajimobi, others from N16bn land

IBADAN—An Ibadan High Court has restrained governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, his aides and the other party members from using 404.74 hectares of land situated in the Ibadan South West Local Government Area of the state.
Ajimobi and some families in Ibadan have since last year engaged in legal tussle over the land.
Justice Adegboye Gbolagunte, who granted an interim order restraining all feuding parties from carrying out any activity there pending the hearing of interlocutory injunction filed by the families.
The families had instituted the case against Ajimobi and others over the non release of 404.74 hectares of land formerly acquired by the federal government.
Joined in the suit were two commissioners in the state. They are the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and the Commissioner Land, Housing and Survey.
The land is said to be worth over N16 billion.
