WARRI—AHEAD of the forthcoming National confab, prominent Itsekiri as like Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), Dr. J. O. Ireyefoju of Delta State University, DELSU and ex-Director General of NIMASA, Mr. Temisan Omatseye, will be among distinguished persons that will speak at the maiden National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, public lecture billed to hold in Warri, tomorrow.
The public lecture which will give the Itsekiri people a great opportunity to examine the intra-ethnic challenges facing them as well as carry out a surgical analysis on the state of Itsekiri nation as a minority group in Nigeria, is expected to have Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, the member representing Warri Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Mr. Daniel Reyenieju and Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, among others, as special guests of honour.
A statement by NAIG National President and Secretary, Mr. Alero Tenumah and Mr. Toju Okpeyeoghan respectively, said the lecture which is being facilitated by Consultant to the Federal Government on Oil and Gas, Chief David Omaghomi, will hold at PK PUB in Warri, Delta State.
The statement added that NAIG members from within and outside the country, Itsekiri students from tertiary institutions and prominent Iwere socio-cultural groups had been mobilised to attend, while the Olu of Warri and a former boss of the defunct MAMSER Chief (Mrs.) P. E. B. Uku, will feature as father and mother of the day.
