Have a rethink, Methodist Prelate warns Boko Haram sponsors, others

ABUJA—The Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Bishop Samuel Uche has warned all the sponsors of the Boko Haram Islamic sect as well as those behind political kidnapping and assassinations in the country to have a rethink saying contrary to their expectations, Nigeria will not disintegrate.

Speaking at the funeral service held in honour of late Chief Okonkwo Ihejirika, father of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika at Ovim, Abia State, weekend, Bishop Uche said: “If you do evil, you will certainly go to hell. Those who carry out political Boko Haram, political kidnappings, political assassination with the aim of causing a division in the country will fail.”

Addressing a crowd that included Dame Patience Jonathan, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, over ten governors, several ministers, the service chiefs, and the Inspector General of Police, the Prelate said: “Anybody who thinks Nigeria will disintegrate is playing with fire. Nigeria will remain one united entity until Jesus comes.”

Turning to members of the National Assembly, Bishop Uche frowned at a situation whereby the wealth of the nation was being siphoned under the guise of constituency projects by legislators.

He said to the wife of the President, “please when you go back, tell your husband that most of those who take several millions of naira in the name of constituency allowances to allegedly do roads, town halls, clinics, boreholes etc, are not doing anything with the money rather they put it to personal uses and living grandiose lives.”

He advised politicians and leaders at various levels in the country to prepare to receive the reward for whatever they sow here on earth as their actions were being recorded in heaven.
