Jonathan, S-East govs for inauguration of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Ekiti

LAGOS—President Goodluck Jonathan and governors of the South East will this weekend storm Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, for the inauguration of the South West zone of apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

President of the group in the South West zone, Prince Nathaniel Uzoma, who disclosed this in a statement, also said the group planned to launch N100 million education endowment fund for indigent youths in the South West.

He said the purpose of forming Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the South West zone was to ensure proper interaction among all Igbo living in the zone and their host communities.

According to him, since Igbo in the South West have basically the same challenges, there is need for interaction to enable them share ideas on how to live in harmony with their host communities.

He said that apart from President Jonathan and governors from the south east geo-political zone, other distinguished Igbo that would grace the occasion would include  Ekiti State governor, deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha; President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr Gary Igariwey; Chief Benjamin Okeke; Mr. Nwabueze Obi among others.
