Police in Enugu arrests two notorious kidnap suspects

Two suspected leaders of a notorious gang that specializes in sending messages to innocent members of the public with threats to kidnap them if they failed to pay ransome have been arrested by the Police in Enugu State.

The suspects, Emmanuel Ossai and Ejike Onyeke Ignatius were rounded up by operatives of the Anti-kidnap unit of the police following intensive surveillance on them concerning their nefarious activites in the University town of Nsukka and its environs.

Police sources revealled that one of the suspects, Emmanuel Ossai, has been on the wanted list of the police for long and had been sending numerous threat letters to unsuspecting citizens threatening to kidnap them if they failed to pay a certain amount of money which he normally direct them where it should be dropped.  Luck, however, ran against him when last week,an intensive surveillance was mounted on him and he ended up in police net.  Presently, he is said to be helping the police in their investigations.

The second suspect, Ejike Onyeke Ignatius who is an alleged leader of a very dangerous criminal group, ‘D WATCH GANG’ was also alleged to have been terrorizing members of the public with threat text messages and demanding of ransom.

He was arrested with two of his cohorts,  Agbo Joseph Chukwuebuka and Emmanuel Onah by the operatives when they stormed their hideout at No. 4, Owerri -Ani village, Nsukka in Enugu State.

Recovered from the suspects, is a handset containing the numbers used in their nefarious and illicit dealings and they are now helping the police in their investigations.

Enugu State Police image maker, Ebere Amarizu confirmed the arrest and assured that thorough investigations would be carried out to fish out all the members of the gang in no distant time.
