Oracle bids to raise quality of Nigerian manpower

By Prince Osuagwu

Apparently piqued by the low level of skilled manpower in Nigeria, technology solution provider, Oracle, at the weekend, promised to flood the Nigerian market, with skilled manpower.

The company said it would do that by training people across different industries, in cutting edge technology devices, solutions and innovations that would make the hitherto unemployable youths employable and help advance businesses for those in business.

The company in flying off this project, partnered with Interdist Alliances, a Platinum level member in Oracle PartnerNetwork and Value Added Distributor, to unveil Oracle Partner HUB in Nigeria.

The Hub located at Interdist Alliances’ offices in Lagos, Nigeria, provides a comprehensive portfolio of services to drive the growth of partner organizations and their business. The concept of an Oracle Partner Hub combines Oracle’s technical knowledge, professional services and marketing support to help ensure the best possible support for partners.

Oracle has been building an extensive partner network and partner support program around the globe. In Nigeria, collaboration with partner organizations is part of Oracle’s success and the newly launched Partner HUB builds on this.

Oracle Partner HUB integrates Oracle Studio, a contemporary and professional meeting place where you can demonstrate business solutions, meet other professionals and hold networking events; Oracle Academy which offers specialist training in Oracle software, hardware and engineered systems at discounted rates; and Oracle ISV Migration Center which provides technical support for migration to Oracle software, in one location.

The Studio is an impressive location to meet with clients to showcase solutions using Oracle technology. It’s open to all partners who are members of Oracle PartnerNetwork.

The Studio consists of the latest technology for testing and demonstrating business solutions; enables access to sales and marketing support from Oracle, including opportunities to participate in joint marketing campaigns; gives administrative support for businesses to run seminars, client hospitality and participate in networking events

It delivers over 5,000 training days every year, educating over 1,500 partner consultants.

The Academy is dedicated to training partners, covering the full Oracle stack: hardware, technology and applications. Shorter course durations mean that partners can limit the time spent away from the office.

Unveiling the Hub, Alliance and Channel Senior Director, Oracle Middle East & Africa. Ilker Kocer, said: “We are delighted to be working with Interdist Alliances to bring global best practices and business value to our partners in Nigeria through the Oracle Partner HUB. Today’s launch reinforces our commitment to helping our partners drive value, become more efficient and knowledgeable and remain competitive,”

This is even as General Manager, Interdist Alliances, Kristian Tierney, also noted that as a value added distributor, his company was committed to helping partners find new opportunities and to provide the enablement necessary to support them.

“The Oracle Partner HUB presents an ideal way to deliver this value. We are very proud to be an Oracle distributor and to be able to execute a shared vision of a more accessible brand and competence within the Nigerian context”, he added.
