ASABA — THE Regional Administrator of Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, in Delta State, Mr. Emeka Okafor, yesterday, declared while being paraded along with other members of the group at the State Police headquarters that he had no regret for identifying with Biafra which led to his arrest and challenged the police authority to arraign them in court if they so wished.
The 52 years old MASSOB leader told newsmen that “why should I regret fighting for freedom. No problem, let us go to court. We were 10 that were arrested. We are more than 3,000 MASSOB members in Delta State. We intend to achieve a sovereign state of Biafra. We are tired of Nigeria. You know that after the war what brought about the war still persists and the Igbos are being marginalised in all areas of governance, no roads.
“We are tired of Nigeria. Look at the deportation of Igbos from Lagos. That is one of the things you can see. Why can’t their stay be legalized in Lagos.”
Delta State police command’s spokesman, Mr. Lucky Uyabeme, while parading the arrested members of the group, displayed items recovered from them as follows, 114 Biafran flags, 10 pairs of complete Biafran police uniforms with name tags, 129 Biafran pounds and 10 shillings among others.
