Broadcast rights: Izamoje warns ambush radio stations

Chairman CEO of Sports Radio, 88.9 Brila FM, Dr. Larry Izamoje has warned radio stations which enjoy violating copyright laws to broad programmes they don’t have rights to, to desist from it or face legal battles.

He gave the warning in Lagos early this week at a briefing to inform Nigerians of his company’s acquisition of exclusive commercial radio rights for both La liga and Copa Del Rey matches for the Nigerian territory beginning from August 17 and every match day.

“The La liga is the biggest thing on the horizon right now. Our listweners have always craved for something to from Spain. So, spread the word, La liga and Copa Del Rey will debut in Nigeria, on Sports Radio 88.9 Brila FM on August 17 and every match day. It is another first from our stable,” he enthused.

He however, added that “we have gone a great length, financially, technically, legally and even physically in bringing these unique services that will reinforce our pole position inn niche broadcasting for the enjoyment of our listeners and give a marketing boost to advertisers and regret we will not tolerate any form of piracy or copyrights violation.”

And to battle rights violators, Dr. Izamoje informed that “two of our solicitors, (Barrister Festus Keyamos Chambers and Barrister (Dr.) Charles Mekwunye’s Chambers) have been instructed to be on guard and seek reliefs from pirates or anyone or station that infinges directly or indirectly.”
