UYO—Wives of South-South/South East Governors will today hold a summit on widowhood in Nigeria in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The two-day summit, is entitled National Widowhood Summit and is expected to provide a platform for sharing of ideas towards seeking solutions to the challenges facing widows in Nigeria.
The facilitator of the summit and wife of Cross River State governor, Mrs. Obioma Liyel-Imoke, said the summit will be chaired by Senator Helen Esuene, Chairperson, Senate Committee on Women Affairs.
Mrs. Liyel-Imoke, who is also the Founder/Board Chair, Partnership Opportunities for Women Empowerment Realisation, said Hajia Zainab Maina, Minister for Women Affairs, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address, adding that she would be hosted by Mrs. Ekaette Akpabio, wife of the Akwa Ibom State governor.
