Ramadan: Lawmaker urges Muslims to pray for nation’s peace, unity

Kano – Rep. Farouk Lawan on Saturday in Kano called on Muslims to use the Ramadan fasting period to pray for continuous peace and unity in the country.

This is contained in a statement signed by the lawmaker and made available to the journalists.
Lawan, who is representing Bagwai/Shanono Federal Constituency, also urged Muslims to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, to ensure the nation’s peaceful co-existence.

”Muslims should use the period of Ramadan to seek forgiveness from others and forgive those who have offended them in order to gain from the salvation of the Almighty Allah.

”As Muslims, we know the importance of Ramadan as a holy month when Allah forgives His servants of their shortcomings.”

The lawmaker urged Muslims to use the period to forgive one another of all misgivings that had happened in the past.

”Time has come for us to unite and embrace one another as brothers and sisters,” he said.

While admonishing Muslims to attune their minds to the messages of love, brotherliness and peaceful co-existence, Lawan advised them to always be their brothers’ keepers. (NAN)
