A People’s Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, Chief Lawrence Nwangwa, yesterday, lauded Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State over his vow to hand over to a successful Ukwa Ngwa candidate from Abia South senatorial zone.
In a statement, Nwangwa noted that the governor’s reaffirmation of his desired objective of letting an Ukwa Ngwa person occupy the position was an eloquent testimony that he was a man of equity.
The Ngwa Renaissance Group leader stated that no Ukwa Ngwa person had been governor since the creation of Abia State in 1991.
He said: “The Ngwa Renaissance Group is glad that Governor Theodore Orji has vowed to hand over to a successful Ukwa Ngwa candidate from Abia South senatorial zone.
Abia South Senatorial zone consists of the following six local Government areas: Aba North, Aba South, Obingwa, Ugwunagbo, Ukwa East and Ukwa West.
“We, therefore, urge all Abians to extend the same support, loyalty and cooperation which have enabled the Governor to succeed till date in uplifting our state towards the realization of this noble and laudable objective.
“We also urge Ukwa Ngwa people of Abia South senatorial zone to bring out their political first eleven for presentation before the good people of Abia State.
“The Ngwa Renaissance Group will make sure that the zone will present an untainted, incorruptible, non controversial, and intelligent candidate who will be a bridge builder and ready to see the whole State and people as one constituency with a common destiny.”
