FCTA staff risks arrest over alleged forgery

ABUJA—A Senior civil servant with the Monitoring Department of  Abuja Environmental Protection Board, MDAEPB, (name withheld) in Abuja, is to be arrested by the Police, over alleged forgery of land document.

He is also accused of forcefully taking possession of a land belonging to Shelter Aids Nigeria limited in Abuja.

Already, the Insepector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar had directed the Commissioner of Police in the FCT Command headquarters, to investigate the allegation.

The IG letter reads, “I forward herewith copy of a letter dated July 1, 2013 received from Chioke, Ephriam & Co. Solicitors on the above underlined subject. The Inspector General of Police directs you to treat.”

Mr. Nweke had in a letter dated July 1, 2013, petitioned the IG over the alleged intimidation and fraudulent attempt by the civil servant  and forgery of his landed property document.

He alleged that the suspect  had sometime in May, 2013, brought armed men, dressed in Nigerian Navy and Civil Defence Corps uniforms, who came to his compound; ordered him and his staff to lie down at gun point, brutalised and caused injuries on them and damaged property worth more than N30 million.
