2015: Group moves against Wike

PORT HARCOURT – AS the struggle for political power in Rivers State towards 2015 intensifies, the Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation, RIVLEAF, has vowed to thwart the political aspiration of Mr. Nyesom Wike, Minister of State for Education.

At the inauguration of RIVLEAF’s chapter in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state, President of the group, Mr. Alex Wele, said the body was determined to frustrate Wike’s ambition because it was based on betrayal.

Wele, an aide to Governor Chibuike Amaechi, said RIVLEAF will frustrate Wike by ensuring that the minister’s allegedly sponsored political group, Grassroots’ Development Initiative, GDI, does “not see the light of the day since it was established on the bond of betrayal.

“They are betrayers. We gave them the opportunity to serve and become who they are today but they stabbed us in the back. Only God will fight for us, so don’t give them the opportunity to dominate you, instead frustrate them,” Wele admonished RIVLEAF members against Wike and the GDI.

He said RIVLEAF was a forum of students and ex-student leaders in support of Governor Amaechi and for the enthronement of positive leadership especially among the future generation of leaders.

Owhorkire Rhino, coordinator of the newly inaugurated Aluu wing of RIVLEAF, pledged to ensure that the group’s objectives were sustained in the locality.
