Kenyan national team, Harambee Stars received Sh2.5m boost from three corporate firms yesterday ahead of their must win African 2014 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria’s Super Eagles today.
Nairobi Water Company, through their head of corporate affairs, Mbaruku Vyakweli donated Sh500,000, UAP Insurance have Sh2m through James Wambugu while Credit Bank handed in Sh1m.
While handing the sponsorship to Stars at the Moi, Kasarani yesterday, the sponsors observed that Stars are the biggest ambassadors the country has and need all the support they can get financially and otherwise.
“We need to appreciate what Stars do for this country. Our donation is an appreciation of this fact and we promise more should they beat Nigeria on Wednesday,” said Vyakweli.
