LAGOS — Accident Investigation Bureau, AIB, yesterday, said investigation into the Dana plane crash at Iju-Ishaga, Lagos, a year ago was nearing completion, adding that the final report would soon be released.
The agency also said four interim safety recommendations it earlier released had been implemented by the operator, Dana and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, the aviation regulatory agency.
In a statement by AIB’s Head of Public Affairs, Tunny Oketunbi, yesterday, the investigation had progressed as scheduled with the objective of preventing similar accidents in accordance with the accident investigation protocols of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, ICAO.
Oketunbi said: “Outstanding investigative activities are near completion to be followed by the production of the final report. The report will be in compliance with applicable ICAO standards to include factual information, analysis, findings and recommendations.
“Accordingly, AIB, as the representative of the State of Occurrence, has been developing the facts, conditions, and circumstances surrounding the accident.”
