OSOGBO — Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Osun State has challenged Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state to search for a credible candidate that can stand up against Governor Rauf Aregbesola in a contest of honour for the governorship election in 2014.
The party’s Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, a lawyer, said this in a statement in Osogbo, yesterday.
Oyatomi said that all PDP candidates in the state appear to depend on lies and misinformation rather than facing up to the truth on ground and admitting the obvious that Aregbesola’s performances in Osun make his re-election unassailable.
Oyatomi was reacting to what he described as the unrelenting lies being propagated by all PDP aspirants in the state that nothing had been done by the Aregbesola administration to develop the state.
He argued that Aregbesola’s achievements in two and a half year surpass that of his predecessor.
He said while the PDP aspirants were lying shamelessly about the governor’s performance, Nigerian Bureau of Statistics has credited the state as the best in human development, poverty, employment and environmental index.
The ACN spokesman said: “Despite the lofty attainments and achievements of Aregbesola, the PDP aspirants keep repeating in newspapers publications that Aregbesola has not performed since he assumed office.”
