ABUJA—The six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, yesterday shared the N2,160,531,987.47, being revenue from the Federation Account for the month of April 2013 and internally generated revenue, IGR, for May 2013.
The figure represents a decrease of N70,521,874.74 (about 3.2 per cent) over the N2,231,053,862.21 received for the month of March 2013 and the FCT Administration’s IGR for April 2013.
Chairperson of the FCT Area Councils Joint Account Allocation Committee and Minister of State for FCT, Olajumoke Akinjide, who disclosed this during the committee’s meeting, said N1, 953,476,232.99 was received as revenue allocation from the Federation Account for the month of April 2013 for the six area councils in the territory.
The six area councils in the FCT are Abaji, Abuja Municipal, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje and Kwali.
