ENUGU State Government has handed over the State owned Sunrise Flour Mills Emene, Enugu to Dao Gia Vtv Nigeria Limited, a Vietnamese-Nigeria Company for resuscitation.

This is part of the Sullivan Chime administration’s determination to attract foreign investors that would boost the economy of the state and create jobs for the unemployed.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the government and the firm early this year. The very brief but colourful ceremony which took place at the premises of the company was the climax to months of deliberations, consultations and negotiations between the state government and the company.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the State Governor, Mr. Sullivan Chime who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Amechi Okolo described the ceremony as another significant milestone towards the actualization of his government’s promise to partner with local and foreign inventors to establish new businesses and revive the ailing industries.

Meanwhile, twenty-one (21) Batch ‘B” 2012 NYSC Corps members who served in Enugu State have received honours award from the state government for their exceptional performances during the service year.

The awards were presented by the State Governor, Mr. Sullivan Chime represented by his deputy, Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi on the occasion of the passing-out ceremony of the year’s corps members, at Michael Okpara Square, Enugu.

Twenty-seven other corps members received commendation letters  at the ceremony for their various contributions in the areas of their primary assignment towards  the development of their host communities.

The State Governor’s NYSC Honours award came with a cash prize of N100,000 for the first position while 2nd to the 10th positions received N80,000 cash each. The State NYSC Governing Board Chairman’s Merit award winners received a cash prize of N60,000 each.

In an address on the occasion, Governor Chime affirmed the continued determination of the state government to reward corps members who excel in the discharge of their responsibilities in the state, adding that the regular payment of the allowance of corps members in the state is to motive them do better.
