Eminent Nigerians urged to mediate Jonathan, Amaechi feud

PORT HARCOURT— PROMINENT Nigerians have been urged to help resolve the differences  between President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State.

Son of late Marshal Harry and former deputy governorship candidate of All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP in the 2007 elections in the state, Mr. Sonny Harry,  said there was urgent need for senior citizens of the country to step into the seeming conflict between the governor and President Jonathan with a view to resolving same amicably.

Harry who spoke in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, yesterday, said that his father pioneered campaign for a President of the country  from the South South with his platform, Campaign for the Realisation of South South President, CRESSOP, 2003, adding that it was sad that the political class had failed to acknowledge the role played by his late father for the emergence of a South southerner as President of the country.

“Regrettably, however, my family is worried that since the CRESSOP dream became a reality, nobody has mentioned my father. We are appealing to Mr President to give us a sense of belonging as a people from his zone.”
