Oshiomhole, Messiah of Edo politics – Crown Prince

BY SIMON EBEGBULEM & GABRIEL  ENOGHOLASE

BENIN—THE Crown Prince of Benin Kingdom, HRH Ambassador Ehenede Erediauwa, weekend, described Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State as the Messiah of Edo State politics, saying that the people of the state must pray to God and the ancestors to give the state another Oshiomhole after his tenure in office.

Directing his address to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state over their relentless criticism of the Oshiomhole-led administration, the Crown Prince,  said: “Those who doggedly want to criticise the governor for this and that, among others, should remember that he is just human like every one of us with human shortcomings.

“We must, therefore,  commend him for his bold, resolute, resilient and principled approach in his handling of the many issues that have undermined the political, economic and social development of the state. As the Benin adage goes, the governor has been the biblical David in front of Goliath.

“We must commend our indefatigable governor for his relentless effort to combat godfatherism syndrome in Edo politics,  which I hope other parts of the country have drawn lesson from.”

He spoke when Afemia Traditional rulers and the  people of Afemailand in Edo North senatorial district held a reception for their son, Oshiomhole. The governor was honored with the title Osho-Osimua (meaning he who saves from shame). The Crown Prince of Benin was the chairman of the occasion.
