Blame your leaders for state of emergency, Erewa tells northerners

LAGOS—A prominent Itsekiri youth leader in Delta State, Comrade Benson Erewa, has called on northerners to blame their governors, elders and leaders, who failed to avert the declaration of state of emergency in Yobe, Borno and Aamawa states.

Reacting to comments by some Northern leaders condemning President Goodluck  Jonathan’s  declaration of state of emergency in the affected states, Erewa noted that the northerners should instead blame their governors, who had failed to address the Boko Haram menace, which eventually resulted to the state of emergency.

Erewa, who is also the youth president, Itsekiri Oil and Gas Communities, HOSTCOM, further admonished the northern leaders to support the federal government in the fight against terrorism in the land, as they were in good position to expose members of the dreaded Islamic set.

He commended President Jonathan for taking the bold step to check the menace in the affected states.
