ABUJA—Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Senator Bala Mohammed, yesterday, said the newly formed All Progressives Congress, APC, was a politically party dead on arrival.
Bala stated this while flagging off the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, area council election’s campaign in Abuja.
He said in as much as he would not underrate any political party, APC was already a still birth.
He said: “The election is not going to be conducted by PDP rather the election would be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
“I don’t underrate my own opposition or those I’m going to contest against because this election is between me and the so-called APC which I believe that between today and March 16 you are going to see how we are going to bury that so-called still born baby that has no leg, no eyes and no sense.
“It’s just a vegetable and therefore it is political liability to the opposition and the party is not practicable”.
He assured the people of the area councils that his administration would continue to ensure the development of the six area councils in the FCT.
“My colleague and I want to leave a legacy in FCT that all the six area councils installed the biggest party, PDP. Why we are here is because after primaries, the opposition will bring a lot of confusion that is why I said we must come together and capture the 6 area councils in FCT,” the minister said.
Speaking at the event, Minister of State for the FCT, Jumoke Akinjide, said every area council deserved PDP chairmanship position, adding that the party would take over Gwagalada, Kwali and other area councils.
She assured youths and women that if PDP was voted into all the six area councils, the government would build agro-allied industry and embark on youth support programmes in all the area councils.
Chairman, Kuje Area Council, Mr. Etsu Zhin, said he was leaving office a fulfilled man. “Kuje is where you find different ethnic groups living happily. And I am happy that another confident person is coming to over from me,” he said.
