AWKA—THE deputy chairman of Ihiala local government transition committee, Mr. Ejike Ebulue, has been kidnapped, with the abductors demanding N20 million ransom.
Ebulue, who was named deputy chairman of the council only recently, was kidnapped as he was returning home at the end of the day’s work last week.
For three days, Ebulue’s telephone was switched off until Monday when unknown persons contacted the family with unidentified telephone number and demanded the ransom.
Chairman of the local government, Chief Chinedu Ukachukwu, appealed to the kidnappers to release his deputy.
He urged the wife to be patient, assuring her that her husband would be released since the kidnappers had established contact with the family.lAbductors demand N20m ransom
