Umuahia—Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State has said that he will continue to develop the state irrespective of the opposition’s plans to bring down his government, stressing that he does not blow his trumpet because his works are there to speak for him.

The governor said that his desire to develop the state and expand the state capital city by building a new government house, surrounded by infrastructure befitting of a state capital many years after was an attestation to the fact that the opposition foresaw his intention to develop the state beyond recognition for which reason they are restless.

In a statement, Mr. Ben Onyechere, Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communication, said: “The determination of the Governor of Abia to expose the state to development as it is common knowledge by what he has achieved in a short space of time what previous administrations put together could not attempt. And this is nothing to make noise about as is the belief of the governor.

“The negligence which was perpetrated by the immediate past administration held the state hostage through powerful media hypnosis without anything to show in the end is contributory to a large extent in increasing the work load for the present administration to contend with.”
