OWERRI – THE Appeal Court sitting in Owerri, Imo State, has upheld the election of Chief Nnanna Igbokwe, representing Ahiazu/Ezinihitte/Aboh Mbaise federal constituency on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The court equally upheld the application by Chief Ikedi Ohakim, former governor of Imo State and PDP to be joined by the Appeal filed by Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, and Chief Araraume against the election of Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

Delivering its ruling on Ohakim’s application, the three-member appeal panel, presided over by Justices A. O. Lakohu Sodibe, Sammuel Oseji and M.A.H. Adumein, upheld that the applicants had interest in the issues being canvassed.

In a unanimous decision in Igbokwe’s case, the Court presided over by Justice Uwani Abaji and two other justices, agreed with the Owerri High Court’s decision in upholding the result of the election held in the Constituency by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
