Shift Okada deadline to April 2013, students beg Uduaghan

STUDENTS in Delta State, under the aegis of National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS/Joint Campus Committee, JCC, have appealed to the state government to shift the deadline given to commercial motorcycle operators, commonly called Okada, to April 1, 2013.

Mr. Koyoyo Uhrorho, chairman of NANS, Delta State Chapter, in a statement, appealed to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, to shift the interdiction on Okada in major cities in the state to April next year to enable them, being breadwinners, ample time to diversify their source of livelihood.

Commending the state government for distributing enough tricycles that would accommodate a larger percentage of the “mobilised” Okadamen, NANS advised the Okada riders to remain calm.
