Rep raises alarm over flood in Anambra

ABUJA – Deputy Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Media Affairs, Mr Afam Ogene, has raised alarm over the possibility of a repeat of the flood that recently ravaged Ogbaru federal constituency in Anambra State.

He said that the concern was based on a meteorological warning, which indicated that there was a likelihood of a repeat flood in the area in the coming days.

He described the previous flood in the constituency as a grave disaster.

In a statement, yesterday, in Abuja, Ogene who represents the constituency bemoaned the destructive effect of the flood that threatened communities in the area.

He called on National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA and other relevant agencies, to urgently come to the aid of the affected areas.
