FG urged to disband pension task force

ABUJA—PENSIONERS in the Federal Civil Service have said they were disappointed at the Federal Government’s attitude to the pension fraud, which they said, was unearthed by the Senate Joint Committee on Pension Fund.

The retired civil servants, under the aegis of Nigerian Union of Pensioners, NUP,  Federal Civil Service Pensioners Sector, said they were particularly worried that despite the startling revelation by the Senate Joint Committee, the Federal Government had not disbanded the task force, let alone prosecute its members for alleged sharp practices.

In a statement by Mr. Clement Ogunrinde, the union’s Sectoral Secretary, Abuja branch, weekend, they called on President Goodluck Jonathan to immediately disband the Pension Task Force and order the  arrest and prosecution of its chairman.
