Impeacment threat against Jonathan, unholy – Aginighan

Former Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Pastor Power Aginighan, has described the impeachment threat against President Goodluck Jonathan by some elements in the House of Representatives as an unholy act championed by ill-informed minds.

Aginighan, in a statement in Warri, Delta State, weekend, said it was illogical for the legislators to give the President a September deadline to implement 100 per cent of the budget when, according to him, 100 per cent of the revenue would not have been received.

Questioning the capacity of the legislators, Aginighan called on the leadership of the House to call the legislators involved to order so as not to give a negative impression of the House.

He said: “A motion threatening impeachment against the President for not achieving 100 per cent implementation of the Budget by September raises fundamental questions on the quality of representation offered Nigerians.”
