AKURE—A former Minister for Finance and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, weekend, raised alarm that fraudsters had hacked into his e-mail address with the intention of duping his friends within and outside the country.
He said the swindlers hacked his e-mail address (firstname.lastname@example.org) and sent messages to his friends seeking financial assistance.
According to a statement issued in Akure, the Ondo State capital by Chief Falae’s Personal Assistance, Rtd Capt. Moshood Raji said: “The fraudsters claimed that the technocrat turned politician, travelled to Spain and got stranded when he lost his wallet which contained money and vital documents.
“Dear friends of Chief Olu Falae, please ignore the contents of the e-mail in it’s entity as the message does not emanate from Chief Olu Falae or his Personal Assistant Rtd. Capt. M.A Raji.”
