Police nab alleged kidnappers of Uduaghan’s cousin

Asaba—CRACK detectives from Delta State Police Command have arrested a  six-man kidnap gang, which allegedly kidnapped a 70 year old cousin to the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Pa Sam Uduaghan, last month during the visit of the Inspector General of Police, IG, Mr Mohammed Abubakar to Asaba.

The gang, according to state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka, was also responsible for the kidnap of a medical doctor from his hospital in Agbor on July 11, among other kidnap cases.

He said: “This gang was arrested on July 11 in Asaba with a Peugeot 406 saloon car. This was the same vehicle they had used  to commit havoc. The same gang kidnapped the cousin of the governor.

“On July 11, 2012 one Dr. Nwaigbo Hypolite, a medical doctor with Awele hospital Agbor was kidnapped from his hospital premises by a six man  armed  gang operating and terrorizing Agbor, Asaba and their environs.”

He added that following confessions of four arrested members of the gang,  two were “trailed to Akwukwu-Igbo, where two others were arrested.
