APSAN denies petition against Delta LG Auditor-General

UGHELLI—ASSOCIATION of Public Service Auditors of Nigeria, APSAN, Delta State chapter, has described as false, media reports that the Auditor-General for Local Governments in the state, Mrs. Mary Njokanma, was petitioned for alleged forgery of certificates and date of appointment.

The body, in a statement, yesterday, by its Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Omonikeme, said that such petition was never dispatched to the office of the Auditor-General for Local Governments, adding that it was aimed at tarnishing the image of the Auditor-General.

Noting that the publication was the handiwork of mischief makers, who were hell bent on sowing a seed of discord between the Auditor-General for Local Governments and the state government, Omonikeme urged members of the public to disregard the publication “as it does not have any backing because no such petition had been received by the office of the Auditor General and its department.”
