Nigerian Naval Engineering College, graduates 2012 sets

The Nigerian Naval Engineering College, Ogorode, Sapele, Sapele Local Government of Delta State, yesterday, graduated a set of officers in Officers Application course 11 and Special Duty Post Commissioning Training Course 6, in her 2012 academic session.

In a release at the ceremony, the college authority said the graduation was  “the 11th set of the Officers Application Course and the 6th set of the Special Duty Post Commissioning Training Courses, which comprised of 12 and 15 officers from the MES and WES respectively.”

The release further said the courses commenced in July, 2011 and ran for approximately one year during which the officers were trained on the skills necessary for the operation and maintenances of naval system, both on board and ashore.

The commandant of the college, Rear Admiral OE Ekwe, said the officers equally undertook combined courses in Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Defense, Fire Fighting, Damage Control, Administration and leadership Training, adding that the graduands had undertaken visits to the Nigeria Integrated power project (NIPP) in Sapele and some naval ships across the country and have been exposed to research activities through their individual and group projects.

A total of 27 officers (consisting of men only) graduated, with the breakdown 5 in the Marine Engineering School, 8 in Weapon Electrical Engineering School and 14 in the Special Duty Post Commissioning Training course six (SDPCT6)
