LASUTH nurses hold first baby show

Nine months old Master Ifeoluwa Bankole has emerged the winner, of the first Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH nurses’ baby show which was held recently.

Presenting the baby, Mrs. Modupe Shode, the Apex Chief Nursing Officer expressed that the objective of the baby show is to highlight the importance of keeping healthy babies and also to commemorate the international children’s day.

“This first baby show is a dream come true and also a way of contributing our own quota to the effort of the Lagos State Government to curb infant mortality rate. The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Wale Oke encouraged mothers to breast feeding for two years.

The 36 healthy babies paraded were judged on certain criteria which include; skin tone, response to stimuli, physical appearance, compliance to immunization, feeding habits, compatibility of age and weight of the baby and growth rate. Ten-month old Miss Asarelah Ohiomba and six month old Miss Utulu Onyinye emerged as second runners up.
