Edo community debunks claim on seizure of Onojie’s salary


THE people of Ewu,in Esan Central Local Government Council of Edo State, has debunked the claim that their Onojie, His Royal Highness (HRH), Rasak Ogiefo, has been stopped from receiving his monthly entitlements by the state government due to the on-going legal tussle over the stool.

According to a statement by the youth leader of the community, Clement Inegbe, the issue of salary for the monarch was not the matter before the Court of Appeal, but the issue of succession to the throne.

He explained that counsel to the Onojie, Chief Dan Okoh (SAN),  explained that the interim injunction barring his client from receiving salary has since been dismissed by a High Court in Ekpoma in June 2011.
