Ado-Ekiti—Some of the outgoing members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Batch B in Ekiti State, yesterday, protested alleged failure of Ekiti State Government to pay their three months allowance.

This came as no fewer than 1,871 Batch B corps members participated in the passing out parade at Christ School Playing Ground, Ado-Ekiti.

Vanguard gathered that the aggrieved corps members were those who served in public primary and secondary schools in the 16 local government areas of the state.

In a show of solidarity, some of their counterparts who served in the local governments, ministries and corporate organisations, joined the peaceful protest.

However, the state Director of NYSC, Mr. Tunde Baba-Ahmed, appealed to the state government to redeem its pledge that the money would be paid into their accounts.

The director advised the corps members to be patient.
Some of the aggrieved Corp members who spoke under the condition of anonymity,  said they decided to protest because of the shoddy manner they were treated
