THE Nigeria Computer Society, NCS, will hold its 24th National conference next month in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State with the theme, “Towards a Cashless Nigeria: Tools and Strategies.” It is expected to address benefits, opportunities and challenges of cashless society, especially as they relate to technology.

According to the President of NCS, Demola Aladekomo, the annual conference for IT professionals and stakeholders in Nigeria, will attract practitioners, decision makers, policy makers and professionals from Nigeria and all over the world with the aim ofl addressing the networking needs of the Information Technology sector.

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, in its efforts to drastically reduce money laundering, terrorist financing and other economic and financial crimes in Nigeria, he said had pegged daily cash withdrawals by individual and corporate respectively.

The conference, he explained, was also designed for the Information Technology Industry to re-strategize in the on-going reforms and transfer from cash-based to cashless society.
