By Samuel Oyadhongha, Yenagia

Elders of Kalaba Community in Okordia clan in Yenagoa Local Government area of Bayelsa State have expressed concern over the massive oil spill from  Agip  pipelines in the area, saying the latest incident makes it the eleventh recorded case of spillage along both sides of the Taylor creek in the area.

The fears of the elders of the community were confirmed by the Field Officers of the Environmental Rights Action and the Friends of the Earth (ERA/FoEN) with photographs taken of each of the spill sites in the area.

The immediate past chairman of Kalaba Community Development Committee, Mr. Roman Orukali, who spoke to newsmen said though efforts have been made to contact the management of Agip over the recent spillage, the latter was yet to respond.
