Group launches book on Jonathan/Sambo Presidency

Abuja – The National Coalition for Jonathan/Sambo Presidency (NACOJP) says that Nigeria is blessed with great human and material resources to drive its economy.

The National Coordinator of NACOJP, Mr Ayanwu Darlington, made this known in Abuja on Thursday at launching of a book titled “Jonathan/Sambo Presidency in Nigeria:  a symbol of Peace, Unity and Progress. ’’

Darlington noted that the book was a way of showcasing various attributes and achievements of this administration which had propagated peaceful coexistence and unity of the country.

He said that the book was the intellectual product of 11 academics members of NACOJP from five tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The coordinator explained that the book was a way to express their support for the administration as well as confidence in the corporate existence of Nigeria as a nation.

He said: “Nigeria is blessed with great human and material resources but had been blessed with few good leaders in the past. ”

He said that NACOJP recognised the impact of the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan which was addressing the needs of the nation.

“There has never been a viable and sustainable national agenda that forms the focus of government before now.”

Dr Mercy Adesanya, a lecturer in the Rivers University of Education, Port Harcourt, noted that the vision of the book was about peace, unity and progress of Nigeria.

Adesanya, who was also the editor of the book, urged Nigerians to appreciate their potential and abilities to lead the country to greatness.

“I want Nigerians to know that our strength is in our diversities, size and that has been the vision of our founding fathers.

“We can not relent on that, everybody needs to work toward it so that we can be progressive.”

She urged the people to support the transformation agenda of the Jonathan in order to create enabling environment that would encourage Nigerians in diaspora to come home.

The Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs,Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, described the book launch as a good development for the administration. (NAN)
