FG urged to ignore Oronsaye report

By DAPO AKINREFON
Niger Delta Nationalities Forum, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to ignore the recommendation of the Steve Oronsaye panel, which recommended the scrapping of some federal agencies, saying it was a  dangerous recommendation.

The group also expressed dissatisfaction over the House of Representatives panel report on the subsidy scam.

Speaking with Vanguard, in Lagos, chairman of the forum, Mr. Manager Seigha, urged the President to exercise caution in the implementation of the Oronsaye recommendation.

He said: “Oronsaye, who made the recommendation is a respected technocrat. That his recommendation should be accepted, is a dangerous step to take. The President should be careful in implementing the recommendation, he should be careful not to chew more that he can swallow.

“For me, it is a very dangerous recommendation because the President needs a lot of money to implement some of his programmes.”
