Chief Timi Alaibe, former Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has faulted reported moves in some quarters, in Bayelsa State, to diminish the fortunes of the party in the state.

Alaibe, in a statement, noted that the report in the media suggesting that there was panic in President Goodluck Jonathan’s camp of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the April 20 verdict of the Supreme Court on the rightful governorship candidate of the party, was the handiwork of “political charlatans bent on foisting their narrow interests on a larger society.”

He said he was not aware of any such meeting, as reported, adding, “I am a firm believer in the sanctity and independence of the judiciary. I am not only loyal to President Jonathan, I am fully supportive of Governor Seriake Dickson’s mission to salvage and rescue Bayelsa State from the rot of the past, having supported and campaigned for his victory at the poll.”

He explained that he was inclined to supporting Dickson to succeed in his task of rebuilding the state and “hoisting the flag of performance predicated on transparency and good governance.”
